The 35-minute Vatican audience, the first time that both the Ashkenazi and Sephardi chief rabbis of Israel met with the pope in Vatican, was arranged in connection with a concert to promote solidarity among Christians, Jews, and Muslims and came just a few days before a major Catholic- Jewish meeting in New York.
